G-G-G-Ghost! 04:31
Hail Satan, Hail Satan, You make a band up, on your own, about a church you've never known, as you sing with all your Satan-friends, about the way that this world ends. Protecting reproductive rights, and shining the most ironic lights, about who really, the bad guys are, as you try to change things from afar - and I, would like, to be able to tear off my face, then I could be someone else, someone who's naturally Good. So I, feel like, I am able to understand, when you say: Hail Satan Hail Satan So maybe this is how it ends, with super-awesome-Satan-friends, and we can let the organ play, and let the church/band save the day, And even if the world won't end, well maybe I could start again, then I could use a knife to see, just who's living inside me - and I, would like, to be able to tear off my face, then I could be someone else, someone who's naturally Good. So I, feel like, I am able to understand, when you say: Hail Satan Hail Satan Hail Satan Hail Satan Hail Satan Hail Satan Hail Satan Hail Satan Hail Satan Hail Satan and I, would like, to be able to tear off my face, then I could be someone else, someone who's naturally Good. So I, feel like, I am able to understand, when you say: Hail Satan Hail Satan Hail Satan Hail Satan

Whiny Art Child, banging pots and pans existential dread, painted hands, and music stands, Whiny Art Child, gonna write a song, as a way to put an X down for where it all went wrong, But if the song doesn't make them sing, and if the band doesn't make it shine, Then Whiny Art Child, maybe you're out of time. Whiny Art Child, gonna get things done, write enough songs and you might just write the one. If your voice is whiny, that means it might be heard! And a hundred whiny voices might be able to change the world. So if this can make them sing, and if the band can make it shine, then I'll have your back, and I know that you'll have mine. Whiny Art Child, look at what you've done, by singing songs 'til the coming of the sun, the voices raised have seen us through the night, Now the vampires have been forced into the light. The Night might have made them strong, but it never made them right, Whiny Art Child, you have brought the light Whiny Art Child, you have brought the light!

For You 04:03
I know it might seem silly to say, but now it comes I find that I'm sorry for what I've done (without you) And I know that there was no other way, but I find now that I've gotten here I'm sorry for who I've loved ('cuz it was not you) I know I needed cuts and scrapes, To find my way and learn how to be who I am for you And nobody wants a song, about what's easy, maybe if things were harder, I'd write more songs for you. 'cuz I have been mistreated, and told I'd never get to have it easy, so sorry for my scar-songs, but this one here is just for you. I look into your eyes sometimes and feel like, feel like, I am standing on the verge of death, But not the kind, that terrifies me every night, It feels more like my coming breath, It feels, feels, more like a finish-line, Like coming home just to be there by your side. And nobody wants a song, about what's easy, maybe if things were harder, I'd write more songs for you. 'cuz I have been mistreated, and told I'd never get to have it easy, so sorry for my scar-songs, but this one here is just for you. And nobody wants a song, about what's easy, maybe if things were harder, I'd write more songs for you. 'cuz I have been mistreated, and told I'd never get to have it easy, but that shows what they know, It's easy when I'm with you. And I know I wrote a lot of songs, but this one here will have to do.

I'm eating up street lights again As drunk as I've ever been since a week ago If my friends all knew, where I'd been going Alone well then they'd be there too. I got this from mugging a hobo I told him I needed it more and he did under -stand as we traded, I gave him 10 dollars. He gave me a place I could stand Knowing how I sound Makes it hard for me to sing And knowing who you are makes it hard for me to talk to you But that doesn't make it sting Any less A battle fought every morning Is not to start drinking at noon, or eleven, Just keep sipping coffee, pretend things are fine, And if nobody asks, it's alright. I'd like to stop feeling lonely, An' I think that my world's made for two. But all I can do is, drink a personality, And still never talk to you. Knowing how I sound Makes it hard for me to sing And knowing who you are makes it hard for me to talk to you But that doesn't make it sting Any less

about

'They' say: "can't stop, won't stop." and nothing could be more true for Frankly Lost. A strange year (or year-and-a-half) has brought strange music about things like 'making art' and 'a satanic band from Sweden,' as well as a return to and refresh of an old original staple. As promised; "it only gets stranger from here on out."

The band keeps growing, in every way we cared to measure, and there’s no earthly way of knowing which direction they are going! There’s no knowing where they’re rowing, or which way the river’s flowing, not a speck of light is showing, so the danger must be growing! For the rowers keep on rowing, and they’re *certainly* not showing any signs: that they are slowing…

*****

Apologies to Michelangelo, and the Ninja Turtles. Frankly Lost would like to thank Rachael, Sarah, Bonnie, Cay, Ames, the entirety of the band Ghost, the actual biblical Satan, all the horrible bastards who have tried to squash the creation of Art but have failed, and the general DIY music scene. A scene I *still* love deeply, but in which I continue to find myself feeling like an outsider.

about

Frankly Lost Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Frankly Lost is a rogue personality fronting a slowly-ever-growing band of misfits making highly energetic and earnest DIY music that feels somewhere between fringey singer-songwriter Art and ska-punk. Following in the tradition of American Folk music, their works are musically and lyrically simple, charged with emotion, and inspired by acts such as Erik Petersen’s Mischief Brew and Frank Turner. ... more
